MEMOIRS OF A BLACK GIRL

CAMERA WORK

Memoirs of a Black Girl is a Coming-of-Age story of a girl and her friends who are forced to grow up and make tough decisions. Aisha Johnson, an astute and bright student, is one of the finalists for a coveted scholarship. One day after Aisha does the right thing, her life spirals out of control and her once-promising future is in jeopardy. Aisha learns to survive, navigate life at school and on the streets of Roxbury while keeping her eyes on the prize.

The film by Thato Rantao Mwosa is now available for streaming online on Amazon Prime.

THE GOOD TERRORIST

CINEMATOGRAPHER

Visual artist based in NY, Marie Karlberg invited me to shoot her film "The Good Terrorist" (2021) last year. The film is Karlberg's directorial debut and a joyful experiment with a cast of talented artists and dancers. My inspiration to shoot this film was the "Goldfish Game" by The Needcompany.

"ALL INCLUSIVE BOSTON" CAMPAIGN

VIDEOGRAPHER

The goal of the campaign is to increase awareness, and drive trips to Boston’s neighborhoods from diverse local and regional visitors, while supporting the public health guidance that is in place. The team was charged with highlighting attractions and events that speak to the experiences of people of color in Boston, and the campaign highlights many local minority-owned and run businesses and organizations.

A diverse mix of small businesses worked on this project, including a significant number of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE’s), Women Business Enterprises (WBE’s), and companies with LGBTQ+ ownership.

THE PINEAPPLE DIARIES

CINEMATOGRAPHER

Paloma Valenzuela's web series "The Pineapple Diaries" is a comedy show that follows the lives of several young POC creators trying to make it in Boston.

I participated in this project shooting scenes for episodes 5 “Marcus” and episode 6 “Down The Internet Rabbit Hole” from season 3, the last season of the show.
