Power lives a different world than the powerless. For ages, powerful men (mostly men) have used their privilege to make sure power stays within their exclusive circles. Control over weapons, control over capital, control over medicine, control over property, control over media and communications, control over history (narratives told), control over religion, control over the masses (control over bodies) and ultimately control over the lives of the powerless.
The way that the powerless think about things is extremely different to the way the powerful think about things.
While powerless differentiates individuals and circumstances, powerful renders everything as a potential resource to gain more power and wealth. While powerless sees colors, sides, opinions, ideology… powerful only sees an opportunity to gain more power and wealth.
While powerless sees poetry and beauty, powerful only sees an opportunity to sell you something to gain more power and wealth. While powerless feels vulnerable and demands protection, powerful will find the tools to gain more power and wealth. While powerless is sick or wounded, powerful will find a cure to gain more power and wealth. I can keep going forever. It works with everything. This is the world we are living in.
This is why, we need each other to create our societies, not governments. We need each other to protect each other, not police. We need each other to heal each other, not corporations. We need each other to care about our environment not UN, philanthropists, celebrities, etc. We need each other to become powerful.
